THE SCOPE

A black-tie gala in Madrid at Casa de México, presented over two nights due to guest demand and space limitations, with an international group of patrons, collectors, and philanthropists.

Le Basque was responsible for the full design and production, developed around Día de los Muertos. Alejandro Muguerza was given open direction to work with the institution’s network of Mexican artisans.

All materials were sourced directly from Mexico and brought to Madrid—tabletop, candelabras, ceramics, and decorative elements produced by individual makers and workshops.

The evening centered on a large altarpiece by artist Guillermo González, with a cabaret-style performance drawing from traditional Day of the Dead imagery. Catering was developed in collaboration with Restaurante Puntarena Madrid.

The project was delivered as a cultural initiative, with Le Basque contributing the design and production at cost.
