GALA IN THE GARDEN

THE SCOPE

Annual gala at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, part of a long-standing collaboration spanning over two decades.

Each year the event is developed in response to the Garden’s current initiatives. Past themes have ranged from space-based horticulture research to regional references and seasonal palettes.

“An Orchid Affair” focused on the Million Orchid Project, an effort to reintroduce native orchid species throughout South Florida.

The design centered on a deep plum palette, set against orchids sourced from local growers. A suspended installation of handcrafted braided lamps was built over the dance floor, with live orchids hung from each fixture.

All plant material used for the event was returned to the Garden following the gala.
