When was the last time a dish surprised you before you even took the first bite? …

Is experiential dining changing what guests expect from events?

It feels like we're watching a shift happen.

For years, exceptional catering meant beautifully executed food and impeccable service. Today, guests still expect both—but they're also looking for something they'll talk about long after the last course.

That's where experiential dining comes in.

Whether it's harvesting your own first course, watching a dish come together tableside, or discovering that an entire garden is edible, the meal becomes something guests participate in rather than simply consume.

The goal isn't to make food theatrical for the sake of it. It's to create moments that naturally spark conversation, curiosity, and connection.

As experiences continue to become the new luxury, we're curious— Do you think guests are looking for more interaction with their food, or do you prefer a more traditional dining experience?

At this amazing event, at first glance, guests wandered through rows of freshly planted vegetables, doing exactly what they were invited to do: pick something from the earth. It wasn't until the first bite that the surprise revealed itself. The dark chocolate spiced "soil," the roasted garden harvest, every element of the landscape was entirely edible.

It was a moment that transformed dinner into something more than a meal.
